San Antonio FC's Season Ends With Loss To New Mexico In Western Conference Quarterfinals
A frustrating night in front of goal sends San Antonio FC home early.
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — San Antonio FC’s season came to an end on Saturday night as they fell 2-0 to New Mexico United at Rio Grande Credit Union Field at Isotopes Park, eliminating them from the postseason.
San Antonio still has not won a playoff road game in franchise history, going 0-2-1 all-time.
“Before the second goal, when we were playing, we were in control of the game,” SAFC Head Coach Carlos Llamosa said. “When we were losing 1-0, we were chasing the game. We were creating something good. We fell asleep for a second, and they scored the second goal, and it was difficult to go and come back in the game.”
